WITNESS...the shakshibhava.

Concept : First thing about meditation is that it cannot be done.Everyone thinks meditation is doing something.As if it is something to do.Meditation just happens.Then what can be done...what you can do is give right atmosphere for it to happen. Meditation or "dhayana" is something which happens to you without doing. Like you can open your window....sunlight will come it self , without your doing. You can be in a state of deep waiting and openess...and then something decends...so' it is doing something that leads to non-doing.

Process : Sit in a comfortable position with your spinal cord staright...And watch your thoughts. We are constantly thinking about something, one thing or the other. We jump from one thought to another without realising. We are a crowd...a mob inside. Between one thought to another there is a small gap. In meditation we have to just watch our thoughts. We have to be just witness . dont stop them or get identified with them...just be a witness. And slowly you will become aware of that gap...which is between one thought and another. As the time will pass this gap will increase. This gap will keep on increasing...this gap of no-thought ...this gap...this silence is state of being. And you will feel that this state has quality of bliss with it.

Points to remember : Please remember to take bath. It is suitable to do this meditation in the early hours of morning
or midnight. Try to remain empty stomach...or even if you have to eat, eat very light..a glass of juice or tea etc. Wear very loose cloths. Light some incense. You can place a candel at night...idea is to create very amiable atmosphere.

Dancing....the Natraja.

Concept :- Every action comes out of inaction and every inaction turns into action. Action inaction are not suplementry to each other. The river of existence flows always between two banks. Same way action and inaction, doing and non-doing are two poles of same phenonmenon. Doing and inaction are the steps to the temple of meditation. Temple of profoung peace and silence. First part of any techinique is not meditation at all. This month we will talk one such beautiful meditation techinique. This techinique is dancing. Dancing is one of the most beautiful action, human body can perform. Dancing do leads to meditation. It is my experience that dancing leads to meditation and then meditation leads to dancing. Att the traditional dances of India like bharatnatayam, Kuchipudi...Katthakali ect, were born out of meditative state. Hence they are aptly called as the dances of temple. Movement and mudras (hand gestures)in these dances are so graceful that watching someone dancing alone can lead you into state of meditation. In Indian mythology we come to know that Yogiraj Lord Shive when reaches climax of meditation...anger or happiness...he starts to dance. His name Natraj itself comes from his dancing posture.The ultimate flowering of personality leads to whole life as dance. Whole life becomes non serious dance...it becomes a game...a play. One such personality is Lord Krishna, who is know as dancing God.

Process :- This form of meditation is very easy to practise. All we need is a room, an audio tape of any instrumental music. This misic should be in ratio 1:2:4, from begining to end. Play the music and start to sway to the music standing with your eyes closed. Do not try to dance let dance happen to you. Be in a sate of complete Let-Go !!...If you feel like crying cry..if you feel like laughing ...laugh...shout...jump...but just help your body do what it wants to do. Help it completely.Dance with the rythum..Let music engulf you completely...do it with all your heart...do not even hold an inch of youself...dont listent to your intellect...it might come and say..stop..what madness is this...put it aside...but do it inspite of it.Let every cell in your body dance...become dance ...just dance. Let your breathing increase with the rythum. Dance with frenzy..dance like whrill dance...dance..
Dance till the music reach cresendo. This will continue for atleast forty minutes. As the music ends sit in lotus position...comfortably...but do not open your eyes yet. Sit and watch what is going inside...feel the cry of every cell asking for rest. Jsut be witness to withine and without...with awareness. Be aware of the vibration inside you. Be aware of the increased energy level inside. Just feel the energy burst inside. Join your hands in posture of prayer after approxmately thirty minutes and bow to the devine in you with sence of gratitude and slowly open your eyes.

Points to remember :-
*Wear loose fitting clothes, better wear a loose gown.
*Keep the light in the room of low density.
*Room should be well ventilated
*It is advised to have some classical music for dancing
*Do this meditation in the evening or morning at the
time of dawn or dusk, after taking bath.
* to see results practise this meditation for seven days.
* For these seven days talk as less as possible.
