Details in the new video - posted by Warlock @ 2:27 | |
 | Here is a list of some of the cool and nifty details I’ve taken notice of in the new and awesome Blade video: - How the zombie ducks to avoid an attack by the Knight when he swings the torch at him (and how lovely the shadow and light are)
- The scene right after, when the Barbarian swings his axe at two minotaurs, you can see the fleshwounds left in their stomach
- In the very next scene, you see through the 1st person view, and that big fellow swings his large sword at you, crushing your shield in bits
- The sound when the Amazon rolls and smash the skeletons head off (love that sound hehe)
- Another shield breaking in the next scene, in the fight with the Knight and the dark/traitor knight
- How the sword swings when the Knight throws it at his opponent, hitting him in the arm so that he drop his shield and cover the wound with the other hand
- The trailing mark from the arrow that flies by in the next scene and the FX showing the Amazon as she reach a new level
- Some of the different skins used for multiplayer in the scenes between the fight with the Knight and the Barbarian, which is actually showing some of the multiplayer action (one of the players is named Conan)
- The monster behind the flames, which are being exhaled towards the player character
- How the traitor/dark knight, in red armour, stings the Knight and the blood is dripping from his sword afterwards
- The defensive crouch-move the Knight does towards the end when that magic missile is launched at him
- The skeleton the Amazon fights against is on fire
- The smoke pouring out of the zombie’s neck after the Barbarian cuts his head off
- That the game is actually titled "Blade: The edge of darkness"
If you’ve seen the video as many times as I have, you may already have noticed all of these, and perhaps you know of some cool details I’ve left out. If so, I encourage you to post about it in the comments to this newspost! |

here i go:
1:when the knight appears you can see his nose shadow, and the
brightness and reflection in the water, and the shadow of
the leather armour in his leg and how is attached to the legs
so is streched with every leg, the skulls shadow too,
2:the dwarf shield has clefts. far behind there is the shadow of
that demon statue?
3: the animations, the shield shadow in the body of the amazon?
4: the way the barbarian walks!!! the textures!!
the barbarian pushing his teeth
that zone is INCREDIBLE, it looks so real!!
5:when the knight fires the wood boxes, there´s some kind of help
tip "use torchs ...."
6:the knight fires a weapon( dagger?) and the guardian hears the
sound from his left and alerted raises his weapon and goes to
investigate.
7:When the barbarian looks at the dragon the great armour in his right
arm and the sword is dented.
8:The film like camera effects in the game movies?: the knight, the
barbarian running ( and he has the right arm armour so don´t know
if its a movie or what, does this mean that in the movies in the game
the characters appear with the appearance they have at that moment
in the game?)
9:the shadow of the skeletons and zombies head where they are
decapitated
10:when the amazon fires in first person view an arrow and the skeleton
jumps back because of the impact
11:when the knight with that big axe kills the traitor and the shield
falls in circles at the ground (don´t know how to say this)
12:the multiplayer battle, when the barbarian pushes the knight shield
there are sparkles,
13:the animations when the barbarian attacks with the twohanded axe
and look how incredibly the animations in the combos when they
use one hand to strike and then the character takes the weapon with
two hands again( look when the barbarian kills a traitor and
mutilate his leg with a circles like combo, look how he strikes
with the left hand and then catches the weapon again with both hands)
incredible!!
14:and last how the barbarian breaks a table in the frenetic last part
of the video
BUGS?
A:the knight doesn´t shadow one of the skull, his shadow is on the floor
and should be over the skull too.
B:I played the video frame by frame and
in one of the frames the head of the knight is totally shadowed or
dissaperared( first part of the video).
C:That fucking deformed demon that jumps from a window, well its
right claw cross through the window little fragment on the ground
D: in the scene when a blue energy ray comes from up to a character
and the ground trembles look at the wall behind cos one moment is
fragmented
The more i watch the video the better it gets and the music and sounds are really great
great great great work rebelact! |

Thanks BirdMadBoy :-)
It's time for my hourly ritual...turn off all lights, pump up the volume on the Hi-Fi, open my mpeg player, turn on my 33" TV and put the Blade video on repeat-mode :)))
(btw: congratulations to Spain in the victory over Slovenia! Hopefully Norway wins today too :-)) |

-First of all look at the amazon she looks great!
1-Her walking movement at the first part of the video is so sexy! (specially with that low camera position)
2-Her movements are much more faster than the other characters (she killed an orc in seconds with her spear)
3-In the video it´s shown a very impresive combo of the amazon cutting an skeleton´s head off with an gymnastics movement for getting close to the skeleton.
And that´s all about the Amazon.
You noticed that for the knigth is hard to use a two handed weapon? He use it well but with a great efford and keeping the weapon handed in a low position. |

Sorry about Norway. We´ll have all to wait until wednesday.
Good night!
Ah, one last question, how can the character use the torch, can you extend your arm to light the front or light just your side like in the video or change it from one hand to the otherto light something you want to, or is predefined? |

That was one weird match...lot's of nasty confrontations and stuff, but it's no excuses; we played awful out there!
They better make it right on wednesday towards Slovenia...
I assume that the torch remains in your weaponary hand (the right one) and you'll have to turn your character in the direction you want to light something up. It would be nice, at least, to be able to move the torch further in front of yourself...maybe you can, I don't know (I was to busy swinging it like a sword).
Another thing that I want in the game is the ability to pick up 3+ torches and juggle with them :-) |
