Romance

“Oh, dear,” Lavender said. She set her quill and parchment down on the bed and just stared at it for a moment.

“What is it?” Parvati looked up from her own parchment, realized she’d been chewing the end of her quill, and spat out a mouthful of feathers.

“Would you come look at this? I’m afraid I might have done it wrong.”

Lavender sounded worried, so Parvati hurried onto the other girl’s bed and leaned over her Divination work. “No…that looks about right. Venus rising…Mars falling…and all your predictions seem to be accurate.”

“But look at that!” Lavender jabbed her finger at the scroll. “Right there. It says that by the end of today, I should have romance come into my life. And its nearly time for bed.” Lavender’s eyes were huge as she turned to face Parvati. “I know I did it right! Do you think…do you think that means Professer Trelawney taught it to us wrong?”

Parvati kissed her.
