Over view of Innocence Lost
The story Innocence Lost started with the birth of John Frink. We watched him grow up and learned how he aquired his speach impediment. His parents Henry and Barbara Frink were both into the sciences and encouraged their son's love of learning. John was brilliant from the start and because of this was always a target for bullies. In 5th grade he always tried to stay out of the way of Jake better known as Sharky for his crazy hair style. Half way through the year a new student and fellow child prodigy Owen Marsh joined Springfield Elementary. This was the start of what would be a life long rivlary with him and Frink. Owen hated him from the start. Owen would tease him, put him down and savatage his projects at every opportunity he got. He knew Frink was better than him and would not allow him to excel as long as he was around. Frink experienced a heart breaking defeat in 7th grade when Owen won the Science Trivia Tournament. Frink got 2nd place. The only reason he lost was because they were tied and the match went into timed questions. He couldn't keep up with his speach impediment and Owen pulled ahead.
Frink was a year older than Owen and he graduated first as valedictorian of his class and went on to college. The college bookstore had a surplus of green lab coats that they had accendentally ordered and no one was buying. Frink bought them all and this is how he aquired his favorite look. Caroline joined Springfield University since she graduated at the same time as Frink, but they did not meet until the following year in the class Electronics and Magnetism. Frink finally got the courage to go and talk to her only to find that Owen had had the same idea and he got to her first.
Caroline didn't like Owen from the moment they met and there was never anything between the two of them, though Frink thought differently. When he saw her reject him by smacking him across the face he knew the truth and made his move. The two began going steady. It was in graduate School that Frink finally proposed to Caroline in a very creative way, by writing "WILL YOU MARRY ME?" on a slide filled with bacteria, using the bacteria as words. She accepted. The two graduated with Frink earning the title of Professor and Caroline the title of Doctor. Owen tried everything he could to separate the two and take Caroline as his own, but failed. The two were married by Rev. Lovejoy. When Owen saw that he had lost her to his rivial he put in for graduation and left town depressed. Frink and Caroline had a son named Maximillian three years later.
The Frink Family story picks up right after the couple left the church happily married. If you would like to read in full detail everything that happened then please have a look at Chapters 1-11 of Innocence Lost.
