It will probably rain so bring an umbrella. There are a few, hard to believe tales centered around this fortress. I just don't believe them, but just to be safe....count your fingers and toes before you start. This site is dedicated to a friend of mine who, countless times led  villagers (torch in hand) through the dark damp Odenwald Forest, up to the Fortress, in failed effort to tame Dr. Frankensteins evil monster.  I am told that monsters visit the remains of this mighty fortress each year. To bring back to life that time when the good people of Darmstadt cowered in horror and sought every opportunity  to escape the torturous grasp of the evil doctor.
