What's Newat theMad Cybrarian's Library |
| November 4, 2003 The search engines at
both mirrors are working again. *happy dance* (yes, I am easily amuzed,
and proud of it too *LOL*) November 1, 2003 The stars circle round and once again converge into the conjunction that prompts me to clean out the Cybrary. Bet ya'all thought I had abandoned the old place. Nope, just been busy. Finished school and am now a full fledged working techie! (don't ever let anyone tell you dreams don't come true *G*) I don't plan to make any changes with the look and feel this time, but have started cleaning out the dead links and finding archive and other indices to assimilate . . . uh . . . I mean link. I still don't have facilities to provide a detailed list of what's new, but I do finally have broadband and a link check app, so suffices it to say I'm merrily running amok though out the place (so what else is new?*L*). * maniacal laugher and spooky organ music echo in the night * November 29, 2001: NBCi (formerly known as Xoom) is no more. The Library is now mirrored at both Tripod and Fortune City. I have also changed the e-mail address to my new Lycos address (Netaddress went pay and I refuse to). Fixing the search and counters will be my next priority. January 2, 2001: After fighting with the FortuneCity server all weekend, trying to upload updated pages, I find that almost all of my main index and several other HTML files are missing. I have mirrored the Library. It remains to be seen whether this will esclate into a permanent move. I have not yet managed to install the new search interface for the new mirror, but I am working on it and all the pages are there and available for browsing. December 28, 2000: Added more works by Henrik Ibsen who now has his own page. Older Gutenberg links through "L" are in place and should work. December 27, 2000: mostly updated the " D" authors who have their own pages -- adding Gutenberg links. Also started adding intrapage anchors to main pages to take better advantage of the new search engine. Fixed the links on the Sulpitius Severus page, except the last one which is not working on the archive index itself. December 26, 2000: I'm taking advantage of the break between semesters to give the Library a much needed update. While I don't have the facilities to include a detailed list of what is added, I can and will try to include a brief note as to which specific pages are updated. Right now that's easy -- I'm running amok throughout the site * maniacal laugher and spooky organ music echo in the night * and having a grand time too. Specifically, I am focusing on making certain that all of the Gutenberg texts are listed -- a daunting task indeed. (Yup, Don Quixote if my hero * mischievous grin *) I have also replaced the broken search engine. This one even works better -- using the intrapage anchors!!! and providing some of the text. When combined with the browser's find feature ( on Netscape: Edit | Find in Page) one should be able to easily find a link with only part of the title, even when the author's name isn't known to the searcher. |
