this is the home of Quest, a jazzfusion power trio from the early 80's .in Quest, we created a wall of sound that blended several musical styles into a new form. george came from a jazz background, joey was a mixture of carl palmer and neal pert(one of his personal favorites),and i added a floydish, epic rock rythem section to the mix. together we bent the rules of each style of music to our will. to create music our way, this was our quest...

the beginnings of the quest sound goes back a few years and bands, to when george and i were playing as a duo called oceandrive. after a short stint in a rock band called oakendagger, which included vig on bass, george vig, and myself began jamming. joey came along to join the band,(he also played with oakendagger for a bit),and we called the 4 piece band oasis.(this was 1981,long before that british band)

after about a year,vig left the band for reasons of his own. this left us bassless, and it became a problem. no one that we auditioned worked out. we even had a keyboard player to double on bass for a bit. one night, george took me to jam with a backwoods hippie friend of his. this guy had ripped the bass petals and guts out of an old organ, and was playing them and his guitar at the same time! i couldn't believe it! this was the answer to our bass problems. i bought a set of synth bass petals, and the quest sound was born...

quest was together from 81-83, two very productive years. george and i wrote many songs during that time which we still listen to and play. there are mp3's of live quest recordings from our warehouse for you to download and enjoy on this site. all of which are the core of the quest sound.
