I work in a nursing home as a dishwasher. When I'm not writing I enjoy doing things with my husband and taking care of my pet hamsters.
I have been writing prose and poetry since high school. I've become more serious with my writing within the last several years. I write inspirational poetry and I am working on an inspirational young adult series. In the LORD'S Word He says we are to tell the world about His love and salvation and my writing is a witness of His influence in my life. I like sharing my words with the world.
I am a member of the Greater Canton Writer's Guild and Christian Writer's Fellowship International. In August 2002, 2004 & 2005, I attended the Greater Philadelphia Christian Writer's Conference. I attended several workshops there, poetry included. In March, 2006 I attended the Airleaf Breakthrough Conference. I took the Novel Writing Workshop from Writer's Digest School and several fiction workshops given by Write His Answer Ministers. I subscribe to several writing magazines: Writer's Digest magazine, The Writer, and Poet's & Writer's magazine, and belong to the Writer's Digest Book Club.
I have been working on a series of poetry books for several years. My first poetry book
was print by Publish America in February 2003.
I am working on a young adult series that is about sixteen-year-old Chenoa Fawn Gray Owl's spiritual
journey. Chenoa, and her four-year-old brother, River live in Whiteriver, Arizona on the White
Mountain Apache Indian Reservation. I have finished the first three books and I am working on
book #4.
So far, there are eight books planned but subject to change.
#1Chenoa's Spiritual Journey-Chenoa and her family
travel to Ohio to visit with their mother's childhood friends Douglas and Barbara Ream
for the holidays. Her father wants to ask Douglas for a position at his clinic. He's
thinking about his children's future but Chenoa feels it's an inconvenience. While in Ohio
her parents die in a car crash and the Reams become the kid's legal guardians. Chenoa must
adjust to living with her parents and living off the reservation. Although Chenoa's parents
were Christians, she wasn't and thus her spiritual journey begins.

New York State to visit their father's family.

#6 A TEST OF STRENGTH-Chenoa and River travel to the White Mountain Apache Indian
Reservation and Chenoa discovers she doesn't belong. She participates in a powwow dance,
a sweatbath, and a vision quest. During the vision quest, she talks to her dead mother
about the future. Her mom tells her not to be afraid if her new life in Ohio and whatever
decisions she makes, she should remain strong.
[Time line: July-August 2002-age 16]
#7 Untitled-The story starts out the way it ended with the vision quest. Upon
going back to Ohio, the Reams ask Chenoa's permission to adopt River and her. Chenoa has to
think about it. Meanwhile Samuel stirs up trouble again, even so far as taking them to the
reservation in South Dakota for a hearing to stop the adoption.
[Time line: December 2002-January 2003-age 17]
#8 Untitled-Chenoa's adventures and problems while waiting for the adoption to become
finalized.
[Time line: January-June 2003-age 17]
#9 A TEST OF FAITH-Chenoa becomes pregnant and has complications. She must decide to
abort the baby or take a chance at having the baby born with health problems and/or mental
challenges or having a normal healthy baby.
[Time line: December 2004-June 2005-age 18]
I also have the adult series, which is the parent to the young adult series I am working on.
#1 STARTING AGAIN-Douglas and Barbara Ream have already raised their family and become legal guardians of two Native American siblings. Samuel, their son, makes trouble. [This novel began as a play in 1978 and with the encouragement of a friend, I wrote it as a novel. A major rewrite is pending]
#2 FOLLOW YOUR HEART-Douglas and Barbara follow through with adopting Chenoa and River and experience problems along the way. In addition, I have a story in mind for Dakotah Little Eagle, told in his viewpoint. [He was the Indian boy Chenoa developed a crush on in her series] entitled:
#3 DAKOTAH-Seventeen-year-old Dakotah Little Eagle has to deal with the trials and tribulations in his stormy relationship with Janie Long and his growing realization that he loves Raven Gray Eagle.
