RESOLUTION

For that thou art so beautiful, and
For that thy treatment of me is kinder
Than I ever received from any hand,
And for that thou lovest me with mind or
Heart or soul or body; and yet because
I an thy champion defending thee
From all oppression, I must now take pause
To appreciate how thou dost love me.
For thou hast shared with me thy inmost thoughts
And feelings, and given loving acceptance
To me, despite each of my many faults;
And loved me without any reluctance.
And so, as I am thy poet to write
Verse for thee, so too am I thy own knight.
