MAGIC JEWEL

Beautiful, I held it in my hand,
Not knowing its magic or its power
To turn hearts, dazzle eyes, convince minds and
Ward away dangers like a great tower.
So very small, delicate and precious,
I greatly feared carelessness might harm it.
Fearing it might not please, I was anxious;
Unworthy, could I be loved on merit?
Could I know its power to change my life,
To make room for me in a loving heart,
And make thee happy to be my loved wife?
My life is joyous in its latter part.
This tiny antique ring in love was formed
And so in love was it given and worn.
