LADIES OF THE GULES

Nothing but lovely roses for these Dames
Of high quality, who gently do watch
O'er their champions in these knightly games
And cheer the deeds of honor in each match.
For gracious roses only betoken
The valor on the field which these inspire.
The unworthy hearts may well be broken,
But only the brave in heart rise far higher
But for them, the warriors should fall and die!
Few, without friend or cause, can face the foe.
The grace of these ladies, like sun in sky,
Shines courage upon the puissant to show.
For beauty's inspiration strength conveys,
So honor to ladies fair each knight pays.
