Length of a sword - about 120cm (including 20cm for handle). </div> <div> The most known masters of using <I>bagua dao</I> are Wang Tianyu and Liu Yuan from Lanzhou. Wang Tianyu was one of the first students of Central Guoshu Institute, he is Wu Junshan's student. Liu Yuan is Lu Shukui's student. Another famous man is Guo Zhengya (author "Bagua dao"), who studied his art from the father Guo Mengshen. </div> <DIV ALIGN="LEFT"></DIV> <div> Bagua jian</div> <div> (bagua straight sword)</div> <div> Technique of using straight sword is based on baguazhang movements. </div> <DIV ALIGN="LEFT"></DIV> <div> Bagua qiang</div> <div> (bagua spear)</div> <bR> <div> In baguazhang there are two kinds of spear. First - <I>shuangtou sheqiang</I> ("snake spear with two heads"); its length is about 2 meters, it has a spear-head on EACH end. Second - <I>bagua daqiang</I> ("bagua long spear"); its length is about 3 meters, it has one spearhead. </div> <DIV ALIGN="LEFT"></DIV> <div> Qixing gan</div> <div> (bamboo pole of seven stars)</div> <div> Special kind of bamboo pole with the mercury inside. From the outer point of view it is an easy thing, but the strike is very hard. Set with qixinggan has 4 parts, each part - 32 forms. Dong Haichuan transferred this art ot Yin Fu only. Yin Fu taught Yang Mingshan and Jin Yuhui. Jin Yuhui taught three parts of a set to Guo Gumin and Li Ziming. </div> <DIV ALIGN="LEFT"></DIV> <div> Liuhegun</div> <div> (pole of three connected)</div> <div> Special method of using the short pole (about 1 meter). Developed by Yang Mingshan on the base of using <I>qixinggan</I>, swords, poles and spears. The name means, that there are methods of fighting by <I>qixinggan</I>, long weapon and short weapon. There are 64 methods. Yang Junfeng taught Yang Jiuqing, Yang Jiuqing taught Sun Baotai, Sun Baotai taught Dan Yukui. </div> <DIV ALIGN="LEFT"></DIV> <div> Jizhao Yinyangrui</div> <div> (cock's claw yin-yang edges)</div> <bR> <div> Special weapon of baguazhang, developed by Dong Haichuan. Chang Jiamiao described this weapon in his book of stories, where Dong Haichuan was used as prototype for the main hero. There are 24 methods of using this weapon. On the left photo there is usual kind, on the right photo - version, preferred by Guo Gumin. </div> <DIV ALIGN="LEFT"></DIV> <div> Ziwu yuanyang yue</div> <div> (axes of mandarin ducks and signs "zi" and "wu")</div> <bR> <div> This weapon also known as <I>riyue qian-kun jian</I> (swords of sun, moon, and trigramms qian and kun), <I>lujiao dao</I> (swords of antlers). It is an ancient weapon, well-known in many wushu styles. It is possible, that baguazhang practicioners began to use this weapon because of wrong understanding of the description of <I>jizhao yinyangrui</I> in Chang Jiemiao's book.
