Originally a 4 piece cover band from kilkenny Ireland, they wrote there first album (Titled "Kerbdog") "getting drunk and mucking around in the pub" before they were signed to Vertigo (There first record label). They had a "Top 40" hit (reaching No.37) with the single "Dummy Crusher" taken form there first album (Kerbdog). There 4th member, Billy Dalton departed from the band in '96 after recording there second album (On The Turn), the split was amicable and was blamed on "the pressures of touring". Which Kerbdog tend to do a lot of and they claim to be "Experts at bumming on other peoples" (Tours) which is how they planed to get round America. There manager describes them:-"Kerbdog play good quality pop songs with a lot of energy. Rock music in the mid-Nineties is a bit of Ash, a bit of Skunk Anansie, a bit of Rage Against The Machine. There's a wide variety of rock music out there, from the UK and America, and there's nothing else quite like Kerbdog." Basically a good band, and nice blokes to. In 1998 kerbdog played their last gig. And are sadly no more. But there music is still here! Cormac & Darragh along with bassist Mick Murphy have a new band, WILT More info about WILT can be found on there own website www.wilt.ie |
