Cherubin died at sea during the crossing from Acadia to France about 1758. His widow Marie and two surviving children arrived at St. Malo on 23 Jan 1759 on one of the "Five Ships". Ernestine Marie Breaux , her birth is listed in the South Louisiana records dated 1876-1880. She was born October 22, 1880. It is listed in Volume 4 page 91 at the Houma courthouse records. I have a copy of Aunt Teens death record. She died 28 January, 1967. It says she is survived by sisters and brothers but lists she had no children. Jean Francois arrived in Acadia in 1671. He was one of fifty colonists recruited by Jean Baptiste Colbert, Finance Minister for King Louis XIV to help populate Acadia.
