Antoine Bourg was born 1609 in Martaize, France in the region of Loudun, department de la Vienne. He arrived in Acadia in 1636 and established his home at Port Royal where he married Antoniette Landry that same year. Antoine was the progenitor of the Bourg line in Acadia. Some of his children established their homes at Cobequid. Many of his descendants were to flee Colbequid prior to the expulsion in order to escape the English and sought sanctury on Isle-St. Jean which was a French Colony.spouse: >Landry, Antoinette (1610 - 1690)
Francois and his second wife, Emilienne and two of their children, Athanase and Agnes Blanche disembarked at St. Malo on 23 Jan 1759 from one of the "Five Ships". Louis François, his wife and children lived in Riviere Des Blonds on Isle St. Jean, Acadia. On 23 Jan 1759, Louis' widow Cecile Michel and her younger daughter Anne Joseph arrived at St. Malo, France aboard one of the "Five Ships". Jaçques arrived in Acadia in 1640 under d'Aulnay's regime and handled coastal shipping and trading with the Indians in Baie Française (Bay of Fundy). He was 53 years old in 1672 and was the surgeon to Charles d'Aulnay. He was the second in command on Aug 16, 1654 in Port Royal. In the 1671 census he was listed as a properous resident owning 33 cattle and sheep. He developed a new colony around 1672 at Baie Françasie, known today as Cumberland Basin. He set up 2 sons and three sons-in-law at Cumberland Basin on the sourth bank of the Missagouash River between Pointe Beausejour and Amherst, later known as Beaubasin. He set up an all important flour mill. Trade flourished between New England in peace time but almost non-existant with France because French ships were a rarity. He lieved in Beaubasin in 1698 and later moved to Port Royal. The census lists him as Jacob.
