Detailed Description:

This fish will have a bony exterior will light brown or olive green color. Its body will be bulky and short. It will have sharp spines in the dorsal and pectoral fins. They have relatively small eyes for their bodies.
As its name suggests this fish may make a good catfish for an African Cichlid tank. Do not keep it with smaller fish. It is heavily defended with plate like armor and sharp spines that carry venom. Be cautious, the effects of its venom on humans is unknown. Provide a soft substrate, rocks and plants for hiding, and driftwood to maintain water conditions. Each specimen must have its own territory to avoid aggression. They may be kept in groups if enough space is provided. Not known for their aggression unless provoked.

Feed sinking meaty foods.

Breeding and sexing are not known.
