Detailed Description:

This is a peaceful, medium sized fish that is well protected with large, bony scales. It may have a dark spot near the center of the body (hence the common name porthole). The whiskers will usually be white and quite long.
The environment should include rocks, driftwood, and rooted plants for cover. A soft substrate should be used. Keep these fish with similar sized fish that aren't too aggressive. Current is not important. Much smaller fish may become prey.

Feed sinking foods, both meat and vegetable based.

Sexing and breeding are not known.
