Detailed Description:

This fish will rarely be seen in the hobby because it's dangerous. This fish has stinging spines in it's pectorals and should be considered venomous. It is not known how the poison will affect a human. Great care should be taken when cleaning and maintaining the aquarium.
Sand should be provided as the substrate for digging and food searching. The mouth can be damaged if a rough substrate is used. This fish is capable of breathing air for a short amount of time and it will attempt to jump out of the aquarium if the opportunity presents itself. Use a tight-fitting aquarium hood or lid to counteract their natural tendencies. Hiding places may consist of rocks and/or plants. Driftwood should not be used to avoid changing the hardness of the water.

Sinking foods are preferred. Meaty foods and vegetables are both acceptable however the primary diet should be meat.

Sexing is unknown.

Breeding details are sketchy. Breeding should be left to the expert.
