This is an extremely
hardy catfish that is well armored, hence the name. They get
a medium size and typically will leave other fish alone. Don't
keep more than one in an aquarium. If provoked these fish can
unleash quite a bit of fury, otherwise they remain docile.
This type of catfish should be fed a varied diet including meaty
foods and veggies. It is a scavenger and will feed off of anything
it can though care should be taken to keep the diet varied.
The Armored catfish is a nocturnal species. Provide plenty
of cover away from light or it will not do well.
Sexing is unknown.
