Detailed Description:

Though somewhat rare this fish can often be seen in the tropical fish trade. They are very unique with an extended "whip like" tail. They are often tan or brown in color with strong or faded markings.
This fish lives in torrential waters, providing fast current in your aquarium is recommended. The aquarium should be a minimum of 15 gallons however 20+ gallons is better. Their water temperatures are typically lower than other tropical species. High 60's to low 70's is comfortable for them. A planted aquarium with good cover is strongly recommended.

Though this is a scavenger species it's primary diet is insects. They will clean the bottom of your aquarium and will eat whatever you're feeding your other fish however insects must still be offered periodically.

If you're looking for a scavenger that is a bit more rare and flashy this might be the one for you as long as you can provide the right environment for them. Temperature being the most important factor.

Breeding behavior is unknown.
