Detailed Description:

This barb looks and acts very much like the closely related Tinfoil Barb. The Large Scale Barb may be a little smaller than the Tinfoil when a full-grown adult. The scale color should be more tan than silver in color.
Rocky areas are not needed. Plants are definitely needed but should be kept towards the sides and back of the aquarium to provide ample swimming space in the center. Use a tight-fitting screen are hood for the aquarium to prevent these strong fish from jumping out.

Provide these fish with Pellets, flakes, frozen, and small live foods. Keep the diet in rotation to avoid boredom.

Sexing and breeding are unknown.
