Detailed Description:

This is one of the more popular Arowanas and can be found in the industry quite often. This is a large fish and is often cited as peaceful. Granted it doesn't typically attack anything however, a 3 ft fish should be respected and it stands to reason that only large or well protected fish should be kept with it.
This fish is often bronzy purple in color and has a definite sheen. It is also a long, slender (yet hefty) body which requires more aquarium depth than other tropical species. Like other Arowanas this fish has a large mouth occupying most of it's face. Again, this fish should be respected as smaller fish may be seen as food.

When keeping these fish you should understand that they can jump and they can jump well. The author would recommend a tight fitting screen or top.

Both Sexing and Breeding habits are unknown.
