Sagara Sanosuke was originally a Street Fighter. He was known as Zanza. Many people were afraid of him. He join the Kenshin-gumi after he was hired by the Hiromi Brothers to kill Battousai. He was defeated. He likes gambling and drinks too much. He is hot-tempered and tend to do things without thinking. He was a former Sekhoutai. When his "boss", Sagara Souzou the Sekhoutai's leader died he got angry of the Meiji Government. He never really trusted them because the Sekhoutai died with a really bad name, as traitors. He join Kenshin on his battles like on the Kyoto Arc. And as Kenshin said he trusted Sano very much. On Sano's love life there were several episodes about him and Sayo, it was depressing because Sayo died. On the other hand I really like Sano and Megumi pairing, They bicker all the time especially on " To My Angel Misao " episode. It was really cool. Sano is also known for his beautiful flowery words and calling names. He calls Kaoru, Jou-chan(Little Missy) or Tanuki-girl(Racoon-girl); Misao, Weasel-girl; Megumi, Megitsune( Fox-lady). He likes to tease Yahiko, chan or child and absolutely hates Saito!!
