Takani Megumi is from Aizu, where all the famous doctors can be found. When her parents died she started to work for him. Until he also died then she started to work for Takeda Kanryuu. She makes Opium for him. She didn't really like working for him so she escaped that was when he met Kenshin and Sano who then helped her. After that she became a doctor to atone for what she did. She helps the Kenshin-gumi when they are injured especially Sanosuke. On the first part of the series it was really obvious that she has a thing for Kenshin but when she realized that Kaoru was the one Kenshin desires, She drop it and started to annoy Kaoru by flirting with Kenshin. She also had a crush on Sanosuke, well although they bicker it was pretty obvious that they love each other. Although I really hope that they got married or something.
