Rurouni Kenshin - Kenshin and Kaoru Shrine

In the past Himura Kenshin was known as the Hitokiri Battousai, or the Shadow Assassin. He is being paid to kill several people who are against the Ishin Shishi. He was being notified on who he was going to kill with a black envelope. In the midst of his killing he met Yukishiro Tomoe who later became his wife to lessen the suspicions of him being the Hitokiri. They both fell in love with each other. Later She confess that she was indeed a spy. She realized that it was not Battousai's fault that her fiancee, Kiyosato Akira died. It was her fault for not showing that she loved him. In the end she died in Battousai's arms. She was slashed by his own sword which gave a permanent scar in his heart and mind forever. After her death he decided to end his killings and to atone for what he did, he became a rurouni. He seperate himself to other people and try to never fall in love again. He became afraid that he will lose those who are very special for him.

Kamiya Kaoru was the heir to the Kamiya Kasshin Ryuu. During the war her father died and so was her mother. She was left as an orphan with a dojo to take care of. During the time when she was alone she learned how to take care of her self and provide things for her. She teach kids their style. But it all ended when she met this guy who was wounded in front of her dojo. She being the caring person took him in and took care of him. He became his helper. Boy was she wrong. She lost all her student because a so called " Hitokiri Battousai " is plaguing her dojo telling everybody that he was from Kamiya Kasshin Ryuu. As she lost all her student she was tempted to sell her dojo.
