Yes, there is a Fancy Lala manga! It is two tankoubons(collected manga volumes) long, and is by Kasuga Rurika. It ran in Ribon in 1998 and seems to follow the anime's story pretty closely. It differs in that you do not see a lot of the minor chracters, just the main plot. The ISBN #'s for the tankoubouns are as follows: for the first: 4-08-856101-5 and for the second: 4-08-856117-1. The chracter designs are different, being not done by Akemi Takada(who did Creamy Mami and KOR too). I'll show you when I get up some more scans. It is very easy to read, with kana making up most of it. There's a bit of kanji, but always with furigana(little kana beside the kana showing the reading, but many of you will still need a translation.
here it is!
Here are the scans showing the different chracter design:
This is a picture of manga Lala and manga Pigu. Note the difference in Pigu's design
Manga Miho and Tarou. Notice Miho's cutified design here.
Well..this is a small pic, but Akiru's pretty much the same.
Manga Anna acting bratty
I consider this the most drastic change. Note Yumeno Miki's hair.
Haneishi-san!
Narumi-san. I consider him cuter than in the anime...
Well..that's all. You see the difference..
