Next year is the year for the National Championship
It all lays on Michael Vick's shoulders

Michael Vick is the key to Virginia Tech having a great season next year. He is the main reason The Hokies have had back-to-back 11-1 seasons, and Tech's first trip ever to the National Championship. That is why it is so vital to the team that Vick returns next season. His future is uncertain, but he will have to decide before friday so everyone will know his decision and the future of next year's football team very soon.
Some other reasons for next season looking so bright for the Hokies is that they have 9 defensive starters returning from last year, they have the co-offensive Big East player returning in Lee Suggs, and they have a healthy Andre Davis. Also in those 9 returning defensive starters the whole outstanding defensive line is returning. However, The Hokies are losing 4 out of 5 starting lineman from this years squad, so that might be something to worry about. But still with the weapons in Vick, Suggs, and Davis (if Vick comes back) those guys could look like the tandom of Peyton Manning, Egerrin James, and Marvin Harrison for the NFL's Indianapolis Colts. As the way it looked all season the defensive backfield was a dissapointment. I am sure Virginia Tech will address these issues with the line and the defensive backfield, but just think for a second how great of a year it would be if they got a good group of offensive lineman and some above average defensive backs, they would be unstoppable.
So the future of the Virginia Tech football program for next year and possibly the year after that is all resting on the shoulders of Michael Vicks decision to come back to college or to turn pro. Next year looks bright with Vick in the lineup, I can already see another National Championship game coming The Hokies way.
