My name is
André
van Haren
and I was born in 1963 in
Holland.
I started
to play
piano when I
was 16 years old.
After six years of piano
lessons at the music school
in Zevenaar and later with Lilian Lepiet in Velp, I moved to the
conservatory in Utrecht to get my teacher degree, so I could teach
classical piano. Five years of intense piano playing at this
school later, I did my final exam on September 10, 1990, and
started seriously to compose. I took lessons by Henk
Alkema who teaches
composition at the same institute and did my final exam in
composition on March 3, 1995. After my graduation, I used
all my time to compose, writing mostly for voice. My musical style is
very tonal. On the 11th of April 2003, I
moved to
Gothenburg in Sweden, where I
married Angie Rodriguez on May 9th., who teaches English, Spanish
and
works as a School -Assistant at a college in Lindholmen.
