
This is a picture of Greenberry Anderson Hicks and his wife Teresa Agnes Digman. Greenberry is the son of Stephen Hicks and a brother to Andrew Hicks. He was born Nov 2,1829 in Green county TN. and died April 18,1900 in Scott Bar, California. He had lived in Scott Bar since the mid 1800,s He mined in Happy Camp gold mine and later bought an store an was an early-day storekeeper in Scott Bar, he was also an postmaster for several years. He was an large man standing over 6'6". It was wrote that he could lift over 400 pounds or carry two deers in from the woods at once for someone. He did not hunt or pack an gun.

This is Stephen Bright Hicks and wife Margaret Green. They moved to California in about 1850 and were very sucessful in most all they did it appears. 
This is Silas Hicks and wife Eliza Shollenburger. He lived his later years in Warsaw Missouri where he is buried. In the early 1900's they lived in a log cabin on Shoal Creek in Putnam County Missouri. Their daughter Laura was a baby. Grandpa said it was very cold that winter. He went to visit and said the cabin was really cold because all the clinking in the walls had froze and fell out.
