The Health of America's Streams, Rivers, and Lakes

Final Analysis of Water Quality Indices of all the Rivers and Lakes

The Vernier Probeware publishes various scientific tests for water quality. The manual includes charts and tables to help convert raw water data into measures of water quality. The four factors of ph, dissolved oxygen, temperature, and conductivity or TDS are used to determine how a lake or river is evaluated. We take our samples with the deep water device and then connect the probes to an interface box which connects to either the laptop (MAC or PC) or the EMATE (which is how we are doing the evaluations). The whole procedure takes about 60 minutes to complete and then half an hour to do the math involved to determine water quality.
