With Fibro meds are always changing,
until you get the right combination... which is different for everyone!
This My medication list.
1-Trazodone 100mgs (Antidepressant that enhances sleep)
1-Synthroid 50 mgs. (Hypothyroidism)
2-Norflex 100 mgs. (Muscle relaxer)
2-Zanaflex 2 mgs. (MS Medication, Anti-Spasm)
2-Relafen 750 mgs.(Non steroidal anti-inflammatory)
2-Wellbutrin 150 mgs. (Antidepressant)
3-Bentyl 20 mgs. (Helps stop Bladder and Bowel spasms)
as needed- Ultram 50 mgs. (Pain)
as needed- Esgic Plus (Headaches/Migraines)
Here is My opinion about the meds that I take.... I have been disappointed with the medication over all. I have noticed a decrease in Depression, with the antidepressants. The Trazadone is effective for sleep, better quality. I cannot take the Trazadone on a regular basis because it does make me sleep very heavy. With four children this is not desirable. The Relafen is strictly for the spurs on My knees. I do not feel that it has helped with Fibro pain at all. The Bentyl is okay, but does not always work for the bladder/bowel spasms. Norflex is okay for relaxing mild muscle pain. The Ultram is okay for light pain days, but I did not find relief on high pain days with it. Zanaflex is probably the best medication that I have taken. I find that it helps loosen stiff muscles especially in the morning, it also relieves some of the muscle spasms that occur.
The Esgic Plus does pretty well for headaches, but I am sure there has to be something better... At least I hope there is!
