1971 'The Full Monte' Story

This is my pride and joy: A 1971 Chevy Monte Carlo.
I bought it in February 1999 with about 160,000 miles
Here is pretty much how the car looked like when I bought it:

And here is how the car looks in January 2007:

It is actually my second first gen Monte Carlo. I owned a 1970 Monte in 1991 when I was a lucky guy and studied for 6 months at the University of Hawaii. 'The Green Monster' took me all over Oahu. I bought it for $600 and sold it for $500 after my 6-month stay. It had more rust than paint and when it rained, I had a free shower on the driver's side, which is not too bad in Hawaii. The motor (350 2 bbl), however, was still very strong after 200,000 miles. You can not kill these 350 Engines!

I found the original sticker of my 71 Monte in the Owners Manual!
Can you believe that the car cost a whopping $4,666.30 with all options?
It was purchased on March 13, 1971 at Reeder Chevrolet in Knoxville. Thats where I live right now.
Reeder Chevrolet still exists. One day I will drive by there and show them the car...
