a couple new shows were added for october, and suzanne noted that the one in bakersfield would be the first one outside of l.a. this year. here's a note: get a little further out of l.a., will ya'? *sigh* another note: it's alex's 21st birthday today! yay! i almost completely forgot. how terribly rude of me. wish him happy birthday everybody.

if you guys pick up the november issue of teen people with charlie's angels on the front, there's a little sumpin' sumpin' on jason's movie in it. a full page shot with the whole cast and a little summary. the title of the movie has been changed to the best and the brightest, and apparently, not only will it include a shot of jason in his undies, but shots of devon sawa's epidermis where the sun don't shine.

some on the clock actors prefer to spend downtime in the privacy of their trailers when the director yells, "cut!" but the six stars of the best and the brightest (out next year) can't seem to get enough of each other. "we watch each other do scenes when we're not even in them," says jason schwartzman(rushmore), who stars as a nerdy college student blackmailing his scam-artist classmates devon sawa (final destination), michael maronna and jason segel (freaks and geeks) after he catches them cheating on a test. his demand? they've got to help him land a date with a sexy campus coed, played by supermodel james king. the sextet -- which includes laura prepon of that 70s show as james's best friend -- clicked so well that jason schwartzman hardly blushed while doing a scene in his briefs in front of the whole cast. "they were like, 'do it! take off your pants! there's nothing we haven't seen before,'" the 20-year old recalls, laughing. the comedy, from photographer-turned-first-time-feature-director dewey nicks (who shot this month's teen people cover), may have a close-knit cast, but the actors still admit to occasional on-the-set jitters. says devon sawa, 22, who'll be baring more than his soul for a romantic scene with james (the actor promises a few glimpses of his naked "tuchis"): "i've been drinking protein shakes and lifting a lot of weights." --dana meltzer
