ABBA YEARS
1974
Sat. April 6, 1974 was when ABBA entered the European Song Contest with the song
"Waterloo." They were the winners and so begins the hectic whirlwind for the four Swedes.
Agnetha turned 24 the day before the contest. for more go to ABBA on TV.com
They celebrated the win with champagne until 4am and then had a champagne
breakfast a few hours later! Agnetha said it was all just like a dream.
The next few days were spent in
a whirlwind of photo shoots and
interviews.
But Agnetha had developed a fever
and sore throat.
The Dr. put her on antibiotics and
even though she felt lousy, she
continued on, never missing anything.

This outfit caused quite a stir. Agnetha became know as
the "sexiest bottom in Pop music" because of this tight, white bodysuit.

The outfit that earned Agnetha the attention of the press.....
Tired and sweaty after a show.
Agnetha had been wanting to cut her long hair before the Eurovision win.
"This is because my hair needs frequent washing, takes ages to
dry and comb, and keeps getting in my way....our photo's started
going all over the world showing me with long hair. The hair had
become part of our image and whether I liked it or not,it was going
to have to stay."
So she then began plaitting her hair when not in public.

Here is that pink outfit from Agnetha's solo days(69) updated and going well
with ABBA costumes.
In March Agnetha and Björn with Linda, travel to Crete. They stay in the small town
of Ayios Nikolaos.
In Crete
August 2,1975 at Skansen singing "Dom här glömpt" from her new solo album,
"Elva Kvinnor i ett Hus" This was about the only promoting she did for the abum.
December 8, 1975 Agnetha finally had her tonsils removed. There was no way of
knowing when the next flare up would happen and the group might suffer from it as well.
It was a painful experience in that she was awake and only had a local anesthetic.
Afterwards she didn't speak for 2 weeks in fear of her voice being damaged from the
operation. But it was all ok.
