She married William Hodgins on 22 Dec 1903 in Leonora and had two sons. She and William lived for many years in Kalgoorlie, moving to the Perth region late in life where they had a small property at Mundijong. After William's death, Sarah lived for some years with her younger sister Gwyneth in a large but rather lonely house in the prestige riverside suburb of Crawley.

Her two children were:

Willie Hodgins b. January 29, 1904 m. Frances MacDermott
George Francis Hodgins b. Aug 20, 1906 d. 8 July 1970
