Margaret Meldrum was born in Wemyss, Scotland in February of 1705 or 1706. Her parents were James Meldrum and Barbara Dunsyre.

She married David Thomson II in 1726.

The writer has no information of children other than David Thomson (III).

Margaret Meldrum died in Inveresk, Scotland in November, 1787.
