Gertrude and Gwyneth Cobley

Gertrude and Gwyneth Cobley c. 1908

After the death of their mother, Gertrude and Gwyneth were sent to be cared for by another brother who was a publican in Newcastle, New South Wales. Gertrude ultimately married a man called Edwards and lived in NSW. Charles Cobley remained in the wild and desolate town of Leonora, working in the Sons of Gwalia Goldmine. He died of a lung complaint, aged 52, in 1909.
