"AFFADAVIT TO ANY FACT" THE STATE OF TEXAS County of ANDERSON Before me, the undersigned, a Notary Public in and for said County, State of Texas, on this day personally appeared, Todd Quarles and J.B. Parker, to me well known, and who, after being by me duly sworn, deposes and says that they are personally and well acquainted with the heirship and family history of M.R. Quarles and wife Annie Quarles, both deceased, Todd Quarles being a son of Annie Quarles and J.B. Parker being a life long resident of Elkhart and South Anderson County and is President of The Elkhart State Bank in Elkhart. Annie Quarles was married two times. The first time was to Ralph B. Quarles in Hood County, Texas. To that marriage seven children were born and no others and none were adopted. They were: 1. A child who died in birth and no name was given; 2. Ruby Whitt, a feme Sole, of San Angelo, Tom Green County, Texas; 3. Loula Quarles Wahlers, deceased, who was married one time and one time only and then to C.R. Wahlers, who still lives in Anderson County, Texas. Loula Quarles Wahlers died in 1946 in San Antonio, Texas, intestate and no administration was had on her estate, there being no necessity for one. Three children were born to the marriage of C.R. Wahlers and Loula Quarles Wahlers and they are: (a) Gerald Cook Wahlers of Harris County, Texas; (b) Elise Britain, whose husband is W. Fred Britain of Harris County, Texas; (c) C.R. (Jack) Wahlers of Harris County, Texas. No children were adopted by C.R. Wahlers and Loula Quarles Wahlers. 4. A son named Button, who died at the age of 18 months; 5. Earl Roger Quarles, deceased, who died in 1921, intestate, and no administration was had on his estate, there being no necessity for one. Earl Roger Quarles was married one time and then to Hazel Byrd Quarles, and to that marriage three children were born and none were adopted. They are: (a) Roger F. Quarles of Lubbock County, Texas; (b) Dorothy Addison, whose husband is L.D. Addison and they live in Tarrant County, Texas; (c) Pauline Streetman whose husband is Ramus Streetman and they live in Brazoria County, Texas. Hazel Quarles, widow of Earl Roger Quarles, lives in Elkhart, Anderson County, Texas. 6. Todd Quarles of Elkhart, Texas whose wife is Willie Quarles; 7. Bess Quarles Monk, a feme sole, of Elkhart, Anderson County, Texas. Ralph B. Quarles died in Hood County, Texas in 1895, and Annie Quarles moved to Anderson County soon thereafter. Annie Quarles later married M.R. Quarles in Anderson County in the year 1900. To this marriage three children were born and none were adopted. They are: 1. Angie Quarles Branch, whose husband is W.T. Branch, and they live in Harris County, Texas; 2. W.A. Quarles of Calcasieu Parrish, Louisiane; and 3. M.R. Quarles, deceased, who died intestate in 1957, and no administration was had on his estate, there being no necessity for one. M.R. Quarles had been married two times as follows: The first marriage was to Meoma Quarles which ended in a divorce in 1930. No children were born of that marriage and none were adopted. The second marriage was to Dorothy Reeves Quarles. No children were born to that marriage but the said Dorothy Reeves had been married before and had one daughter of this previous marriage, and the said M.R. Quarles (sometimes called Roy Quarles) adopted the daughter of his second wife. The adopted daughters' name is Betty Quarles Herman, whose husband is Odell C. Herman and they live in Lubbock County, Texas. No other children were adopted by the said M.R. Quarles. His widow has since remarried and she is now Dorothy Quarles McCray whose husband is Vance McCray, and they live in Gunnison County, Colorado. Annie Quarles died in Anderson County, Texas in April of the year 1943, intestate. No administration was had on her estate and there was no necessity for one. At the time of her death, the said Annie Quarles and the above named heirs of her second husband, M.R. Quarles, owned property in Anderson County, Texas in the John A. Box League, A-10. M.R. Quarles, second husband of Annie Quarles, was married one time and then to Annie Quarles. M.R. Quarles died intestate in Anderson County, Texas on October 6, 1931.
